Not as bad

as most "critics" say. All these whiners, complaining about too much cgi are no real critics. WT_ did you expect? It's a movie by Emmerich. It's Independence Day for _'s sake. If you did expect a deep story, drama and political topics you should have known better and should better write about something else or better, stop writing at all.
Yes, the dialogs are cheesy and it's sometimes near slapstick. But as i said, it's not Kafka, it's Independence Day!
Another example how "metacritic" is mainly wirtten by snobs.

I agree with you. This was meant to be a fun action film. That's what it was

"It's Independence Day for _'s sake."

Despite the first one not setting the bar too high, the sequel didn't even come close. It was just abysmal. The reviews are spot on.

I enjoyed the movie a lot. As an Independence Day fan, as a Jeff Goldblum fan, as a sci-fi genre fan, I enjoyed it a lot. I found it very interesting and entertaining. They really fleshed out the aliens this time around and the huge alien queen at the end was a very cool reveal. I truly do not understand why people give the movie so much hate... bunch of whiners nowadays nitpicking every little thing. Enjoy a movie for a change.

Agreed.

overall i like it as it's a decent simple action blockbuster type of movie. the first movie is a bit better but this ain't far behind and it beats most of those high budget movies lately.

p.s. i have seen 27 2016 released movies so far and it's only one of nine movies i gave a Thumbs Up.

I agree. People *beep* on movies way more than they deserve. I was expecting something really bad but dispite all the flaws it was watchable and i kind of want to see a third movie :P I also think they should reduce the number of characters.

I was pleasantly surprised actually. Not bad at all. Missed Will Smith but other than that, a great sci-fi movie.
