They can't show US President getting Killed

its unwritten rule. yes even with all the freedom BS we have censors that doesn't allow us to show a US president getting killed.

I was pleasantly surprised they killed the president in this, to be honest, even if it was offscreen.

The most laughable example of "can't kill the US president" is the movie Salt, where they actually reshot a scene to show him getting knocked out rather than shot, even though it was painfully obvious what the original intention. Not to mention, in that film the president's survival actually caused a massive hole in the film's logic (ie a witness survived when the ending depends on their being none).

I did wonder why they cut her fate out of the film -- apart from anything else, it gave her character a moment of personal bravery, which I thought served her well.

You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

We saw a President get killed in Emmerich's '2012'

Both 'White House Down' and 'Olympus Has Fallen,' had cabinet members who were in the line of succession and became President after the President was taken hostage. Those interim Presidents were seen being killed.

There have been several movies where a President has been assassinated on-screen.

1) An Interim President is a REAL President. If they take the Oath of Office they ARE President. If they were doing the job while their predecessor was ill or (like in the movies I stated) hostage, they are the de facto commander in chief til said predecessor can resume the mantle.

2) Are you just making these rules up as you go along? Cause that whole 'interim Presidents' thing wasn't in the your original post.

If you watch the deleted scenes on the bluray, there are two that show the President in the Queen's chamber. The Queen wants to know where the sphere is. She won't say. Then the alarm goes off from the sphere being activated, and the President (who's no longer of any use) gets stomped on and squashed by the Queen.

Nonsense.

Apparently, no one has ever watched "24" because literally every season at one point had a president getting killed off. Some if I recall correctly had two. <_<

Hell, Designated Survivor on ABC just completely annihilated all of congress, including the president and all but 2 in the line of succession!

This film had two presidents getting killed!
