A perfect example of "Typical Hollywood Movie"

... yes, it is.

There even is a scene with a dog and someone risking his useless life for it :)

You mean it had some cliches and thriller tropes in it, sure.

Not to defend Hollywood movies, though, but I actually don't think this is typical of a Hollywood movie at all. As massive and self-indulgent as tentpole films can be, I've never seen one written, edited, scored, acted, directed so poorly than this one in, I don't know, years and years. If ever.

I honest to God have no idea what happened behind the scenes, but this movie is NOT typical Hollywood fare. Movies that we call "bad" are actually better than this.

This goes above and beyond typical Hollywood movie. This goes above and beyond even a typical Roland Emmerich crap. This isn't the worst film I've ever seen, but it is up there.

Take a campy B-grade sci-fi/action flick, and give it a huge special effects budget. That's basically what it is. Battle: Los Angeles is another one I would put in the same category. I wasn't expecting any more from Resurgence and so was not disappointed. It probably also helps that I skipped it in theaters and downloaded the bluray absolutely free. 😁

Let everyone know when you're ready to move on to discussing silly little films like 2001. Please.
