Would a Superior Intelligence/Sole Survivor, really send themselves?

This was the one thing that puzzles me the more I considered it:

The sphere/supreme-being, claims it is the sole survivor of a race of beings that became 'virtual,' and holds the key to superior technology, etc. Well, if you are 'the key,' and you contain such important information - would you really send yourself, if you are that important!?

This was the part that still seems ridiculous: "I am the sole survivor and have all this info...but I also can be easily tracked by a Harvester Queen. Therefore, I, who hold information on how to defeat them, must now be destroyed."

Such a superior intelligence that it didn't think of turning on its shields or at least saying " 'sup " as soon as it popped out of its maggot hole

I think they tried to explain their way out of it when whats-his-face touched it and turned it on for the first time, when it tells how it activated itself when it found out that the humans were different from the 'aliens.'

Though it also didn't help that that portal opened up exactly right in front of the human's giant space-laser. My guess is that it came through, saw the designs to be somewhat similar to the aliens, and just...stopped?

But then again, this is a Roland Emmerich film, where stuff largely happens out of convenience, plot contrivance, and largely, coincidence.

Like when the Charlotte Gainsbourg character goes, "I don't think it was a coincidence this thing showed up before they did."

I just wanted to go: "YES! It IS a coincidence! Don't mock me!"

LoL... Yup, Deus ex Machina BS everywhere whereas the first one ID4 it was more exaggerations. "Boomer come here,the flames will only follow where cars go and not into this magical maintenance doorway"
