I'm going to wait until it hits Redbox before watching it. I'm going to wait because I can not believe that all the bad things I have heard about this film is inaccurate and I don't want to reward a $h!t product with more money than it deserves.

I'm very forgiving with a lot of movies but trust me when I say this film is BAD. It's horrible and there's no excuse for how bad it is. I absolutely hated it, and I rarely say that about a movie. You're smart to wait for it to be cheap.

Exactly why I am in no rush to see this. I won't pay to own it and I will not pay $5.99 to rent it digitally. I would prefer to wait until it hits cable, but $2 from Redbox is probably all it's worth. Way too many critics slammed this film and word of mouth is overwhelmingly negative.

Finally got it at Redbox and I'm about 20 minutes in and it is not good and I'm expecting it to only get worse.

Did they just shoot down an alien ship and then still go about celebrating Independence Day like nothing important just happened!!! Roland you are and always have been a hack who got lucky a couple of times. The studio needs to abandon the idea of a 3rd film or at the very least fire Roland and Dean.

Yeah, um, did you see what happened in 1996? And did you see that the alien ship was taken out by Earth's new defense system? The world in IDR is based 20 years after the events of already thinking the world was going to end, already knowing we aren't alone, already having new tech, etc. Why wouldn't they go about business as usual? Why wouldn't they celebrate what happened in 1996 along with the success of stopping another alien invasion?
