Getting sick of CGI
165 million dollars and it looks like a cartoon.
I miss traditional film making. Everything looks so fake these days.

CGI is here to stay. it is superior to practical effects. deal with it.

The spirit of abysmal despair
Not superior, just cheaper.
Piratical will always be better.
Unfortunately films don't use CG only when they need to these days.
Not in scenes that could be easily done practically. Look at the deleted scenes for this film, the bus stop scene in particular. It's a simple outdoor scene that could be quite easily shot on location, yet the unfinished compositing clearly shows that it was green screen. There are a number of finished scenes where it's obvious that they did the same thing.
Digital compositing is great, but shooting in actual locations, or actual sets, will always look better.
CGI in this movie is crap, The original movie was better in every way.
shareThe CGI in the movie looks like it's from a high school student
