I'm still Mad..

It's been exactly 6 months today(ironically) since I went and saw this the day it came out.

Don't even waste your money on DVD purchases, and REALLY don't waste it on a 2 day rental on demand.

I LOVE the first one. I was sooo disappointed with this one. It had absolutely NO backstory. There was several new main characters, none had any proper introduction. Especially Joey King'a character.. like wtf was her purpose? Besides saving Mr Levinston? I feel like she was only in this because Roland and did an amazing job in Whitehouse Down. Don't get me wrong, she's very talented and is on her way to be Hollywoods next top actress. But the story for this movie is HORRIBLE. It seemed like it just went straight to the action. And Vivica Fox character? I won't spoil it but wat the hell?

This is Roland's worst movie hands down. I enjoy most of his movies. I don't know if I can say "no wonder Will Smith didn't sign on", or if it was terrible because they had to do a re write because he wouldn't come back. Either way, movie sucked. Very disappointed

Yes I agree was very let down by the story and soo many secondary character's were really useless and served no purpose.

The younger cast of pilot's and the ex-president's daughter were ok but needed more development especially Will Smith's stepson and Vivica Fox amount's to pretty much a glorified cameo and she was such a good part of the original movie.

Jeff Goldblum was alright but many of the returning roles were unnecessary like Bill Pullman as the ex-president, Jeff Goldblum's jewish father and the Brent Spiner weird whacky scientist out of a twenty year coma was very stupid.

I didn't mind the action sequences, CGI VFX, music score space battle's, moon stuff and ect ect but much of the written characters new and old were not done well and the casting wasn't very insiring either for that matter.

Shame because I was looking forward to this follow-up to the first movie and it doesn't hold up.

Frankly after two decades they had more than enough time to develop a better story and characters. By the way are they going to wrap it up as a trilogy with a third movie or has the low expectations and box office precluded that now?

Nothing is as it seems, nothing is just one thing and nothing is ever just over there;
