His point is absolutely valid China's market for movies is a Michael Bay style film. They don't want plot, they don't want story, they want boom boom boom!
That is why every summer block buster that comes out now is a hair thin plot and explosions from beginning to end.

Well, the world is larger than just America. Plus, if you limit your movie watching and movie making to America only topics your going to have to cut out many movies! Lastly, the Independence Day movie is about the world coming together so of course they would show other nationalities like China.
shareA big part of this film and the original was humanity finally uniting. Granted it was against a common foe, but still. Race and nationalities became more of a minor issue in this now bigger universe. A strictly white American movie would kind of ruin that goal.
