THE DISHONORED DEAD

0nly Marilyn Whitmore had something named in her honor, how come on that note we never saw Starbase Caase or Weapons Station Wilder? The heroes of the first film got real shyt deal in the sequel. Russell Caase was the real hero in sacrificing himself flying into the direct energy weapon's aperture. It left Hiller & Levinson the ability to blow up the mothership. If Jerry Bruckheimer & Micheal Bay did a sequel to ARMAGEDDON, I bet you Harry, 0scar, Max, Noonan would all be honored.

The first Captain Hillier had the hanger at Area 51 named after him.

Russell Caase did deserve to have at least an airfield named after him. They could have mentioned him being awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously for his sacrifice.

Actually, Caase's name is shown in a 'blink and you'll miss it' bit.

When they show the rebuilt Washington Monument, it has all sorts of names on it, and Russell's is on there...but his name is like 50 FT IN THE AIR!! So, even in death, he's just another brick in the wall of underappreciated heroes.

"Thanks, guys." "So long, partner."
