They seemed all right to let a gay romance go on but seems like they didn't want an interracial relationship between Dylan and Pat.

Not every movie needs romance and a love interest. What it needed was a good script and acting.

They went for the interracial aspect with the dweeb and the Chinese girl.

Easier to buy than a black man and white woman? Who knows how these studios think in regards to that...
