What's up with Bill Pullman's voice?
I thought he was acting, but now I think in this movie his voice really just sounds different. Is he ailing in his old age?

shareI was wondering what was up with his voice too. He sounded a full octave higher pitched than he used to.
shareNoticed this too
shareSounded like he was sick.
shareNah. Its wasn't all that low and powerful in the first one either. People have a tendency to forget that he should have been played by Bruce Greenwood in order to have the gravitas that his scenes needed.
shareHe sounded nasally like Ted Cruz.
I couldn't believe when I read his filmography that he played a toilet (no joke) in According to Jim
I definitely think he was trying to sound like a crazy old man, it was pretty cartoony. When he gives his speech in the hangar, you hear his voice start to change back to normal.. i'm pretty sure it was deliberate.
sharethought it was due to the beard...once the beard was gone he sounded normal again...but the being sick part is also true
