This movie sucks, much like many new Hollywood stinkers. The reason why - beginning, middle, and end, as in we actually need them.

This movie, and many new movies are vomit in digital format. Even The Revenant, which somehow has a rating above 8, has this problem. The plot is confusing or dull because there is no order, build up, or suspense. It's just a bunch of scenes rushed together with no logical progression. You really end up with a wounded man running around in the woods for two hours, or a movie like ID 2 that's nothing more than a bunch of action sequences thrown together without any lead up to them.

Yes, the plot in this movie is simple and easy to follow. So was the first movie's. It's the editing and writing that ruin the movie. Hollywood thinks slopping a bunch of scenes together with minimal character development or story makes a movie. This really is vomit on a screen.

The cheering, the fire em up speeches, joking around in the middle of a firefight, pathetic attempts to inject unneeded humor and the list goes on. Campy crap. Stop it, please.

I totally agree. The writing was sophomoric and the returning actors were just there for the paycheck. ID didn't need a sequel, it was great on it's own.

The first time this stood out to me was in the Star Wars movie in 2015. It was awful. This one suffers from it but I don't think quite as much. I'm hoping this trend doesn't continue...

I really wanted to like this movie. But, as you noticed, it just doesn't have anything but flashy CGI. Oh sure, flashy CGI is fun and jaw dropping to watch, but, it's like cotton candy in that when it's done, you don't really feel like you had anything.

But, probably the thing that bothered me more was just all the stupid things that the humans and aliens did in this movie. I mean, I'd be lulled into a sort of mindless daze by the CGI and then something stupid would happen that shook me out of the trance. Like when they show a huge line of cars stopped in the road and people standing around despite lots of room to drive around the stopped cars.

Or, that the alien queen, who seems intelligent enough to set traps and travel light years across the galaxy and destroy cities with the wave of a tentacle, stops hunting the orb so that she can chase some children in a school bus across the desert.

Every time the movie started to get fun, it died when something stupid happened.

All you people do is moan and complain like a bunch of film snobs. Does anyone enjoy movies anymore? All you idiots do is come on to make fancy reviews using big words to sound smart for not ever enjoying yourselves.

Really? You're angry that people hate a movie that is obviously garbage?

"Just shut up and enjoy the movie" is a common complaint / cliché on IMDB message boards. The point often missed is, there is no enjoyment to be had for these movies - they're no fun at all. You might have a point had you not attempted to defend one of 2016's biggest trainwrecks.
