why Charlize would even take on this role in this rather oddball Indie movie? It seemed like she was too famous to take on this role. Don't misunderstand me, I enjoyed the movie, but was it even a successful movie? I had never heard of it until it popped up in my Netflix Q (so obviously I had read a good review somewhere). To me it seemed like Charlize made the movie top-heavy.

Oddball indie movies are usually the best movies out there. Don't forget that Charlize made it big in an "oddball indie movie" (Monster) and she wouldn't have the career she has today had she not taken a chance on it.

She said in a interview that she really wanted to work with JR she cornered him at an after Oscar party and told him she wanted to work with him. She also threw her weight behind it & produced this movie. They said her starring in it is the only reason it was made.
