I liked the movie. I haven't seen the 1939s to compare.
what I really like is how he goes inside his own head and finds himself with all his previous frustrations, but this time he can resolve... or at least that's my interpretation

Great film.

I thought it was an excellent film

I love this movie.
I enjoyed James Franco as Oz. He was funny, goofy when he needed to be, a con man when he needed to be, and his trademark smile fit the character perfectly.
Zach Braff was good too. As Frank, he knew what Oz was up to but kinda didn't wanna make too much bother and did seem a little dim at times. As Finley, he was the perfect sidekick and slight moral compass to Oz.
Mila Kunis was as naive as she was supposed to be. She's a character who's swept up with the idea of The Wizard coming to save them all that she WANTS Oz to be the one, even if there are some hints that he may not be all he makes himself out to be.
Michelle Williams was amazing, as was Rachel Weisz. Plenty of quotables as well, and plenty of references to previous Oz stories to please any fan.

This is a kid's movie. People should remember that. The humor is kid's humor, and the story is a kid's story. Take it for what it is and I don't think there's any way you won't enjoy it.

I also love Tony Cox. lol

Can't agree that Franco was any good in this. I thought the character of Oz really needed Johnny Depp

reply

Not at all. Many liked it. The people in my theater clapped at the end. The complaints are just from the vocal minority. However, I did not like James Franco as the lead. He can't act.

I'm telling you it's Keyser Soze!

reply

Completely agree with you. I rather enjoyed the movie, aside from Franco. I've enjoyed him in other films, but he seemed like he was bored throughout this one.

great movie mate. Good visuals, good laughs, pretty good written plot.

not all good movies are good in the same way, cant judge them all by the same standards.

not alone! I LOVED IT! 37 years old here. 31% in RottenTomatoes.. F@ck the "TOP critics"

You can't be a guy and like this chick flick, unless you're a neo Nazi who wants to get even with the brunettes who jilted him, or unless you're just gay.

This is just a rewind to the neo Nazi sixties, seventies, and eighties for the women who are jealous of hot brunettes, and the guys they jilted, period.

This kind of hate movie bred too much genocide already, and if you want to breed more, I'll keep calling you sickos just what you are.

Now go away or I shall taunt you a second time

I'm from Kansas and grew up watchin the Wizard of OZ played every year in a certain month there, and holy freak, I Loved this movie, it like explained how everything happened, the wizard of oz is a movie that just can't be made, but the prequel to it was fanominal, I'd Luv to see another one made :)

reply

I had no expectation for the movie because I'm partial to the Judy Garland movie so I was surprised that I liked it so much.
