Was Tony Todd's character actually Death?

Nice to see Tony Todd in an FD movie again.

But I keep wondering is is his character actually Death itself, or is he an agent of Death working for Death?, and how would that work anyway it's not like Death can talk to people.

I thought he mentioned in the movie that he'd seen this kind of thing before, but if this is a prequel how could he possibly have seen this before since the other movies "haven't happened?"

No one said that this movie was the very first time someone cheated death, people could have been having premonitions for centuries before any of the movies' storylines took place (in the history of Final Destination, of course). In one of the books (which, admittedly are of their own canon) it is shown that someone had a premonition in the 19th century (" Final Destination: Destination Zero" is the name of the book).

There are various theories as to who Bludworth (Tony Todd) is, a personification of Death, an "agent" of Death (like you said), an "anti-death" trying to help the survivors... the list can go on. I even read one theory/fanfiction idea that he's actually a survivor himself (he himself had the premonition), and he's somehow managed to survive all this time (it's a nice idea, but admittedly doubtful as you'd need to explain how he's managed to survive so long, in a franchise where no one escapes death forever - unconfirmed characters' fates pending).
