A Brick can not kill you, if that's what killed him? Then that's not even as bad as what the rest got and what he could of got... I reckon he's still alive and hiding in a safe guarded positility, somewhere outside the US.

That was Carter (Kerr Smith) and not Alex. Alex and Clear Rivers survived in the first film, but it was mentioned in the second that Alex was killed by a brick later leaving Clear the only survivor living in the asylum.
In any case, it is a little ridiculous to think that a falling brick hitting your head cannot kill you.
Oh, well, I guess I'm kind of the dope here. It's been a long while since I've watched any of the films (save for 5).

sharethe actor did not want to return, BUT it was still stupid to kill the character off. i guess they thought they would stop the franchise after installment two, but it was still a bad decision. how awesome would it have been to bring him back in a later installment.
