Next 'premonitionist' needs a change of character

Each boy and girl (after the original, Alex was sort of a quirky teenager) who has the vision of the freak accident is usually this normal, friendly joe, or a sweet girl. I would definitely like to see a character who isn't your typical survivor girl or guy, and step out of their comfort zone. I think it would be a fun step in a new direction, character-wise, if the one to have the vision is either a spoiled brat, a complete douche bag or something like that. To see that type of character change throughout the movie would definitely be interesting.

When FD5 was in development, the producers were making it sound like Sam was sort of a slacker who didn't accomplish much in life and then he has all these events that he tries to control after the main accident.

If at first you don't succeed, remove all evidence you ever tried.

Well, Wendy was controlling and had a bit of a superiority complex. I agree about the rest, though. I think it would have been interesting if Peter was the one that had the vision. It could have contributed to him going crazy.

Agreed so much. I really want them to do something different with 6's lead. And IA, having the bitch./douche get the premonition and grow as a character would be neat

I second this!!! That would be amazing

100% agree!!! It would be awesome!

Well they can't be too much of a bitch/douche, or they won't bother with trying to save anyone but themselves. And maybe their loved ones (if they have any).

you can always write it in a way that some people will follow them and escape as well. in fd1 the guy freaks out and demands to be let off the plane. a noisy scene like this can occur in many ways so that the premonitionist does not try to save anyone intentionally but people freaking out because of the turmoil. a fight could ensue and delay some people trying to get to where they are supposed to die.

Pretty sure that unless the person is a sociopath, even the snobbiest bitch or most obnoxious douche in the world would at least try to get other people out of harm's way

How about an older person? Or someone of a different race? Maybe someone who is a parent, doctor/nurse, or teacher, who takes care of more people. Maybe a Rory or Erin/Ian-type character, who is somehow flawed but relatable... Hot heads or idiots could be game, too...

Its LeviOsa, not levioSA!

They are also all white with brown hair lol.

Would be cool to see like a black or asian lead girl.

reply

Indeed it would. Non-caucasian leads in horror films are quite rare.
