Things you like about the series (other than the deaths)

I like the tone of the movies, and how everyone dies at the end (like in real life) no one gets to live for being a good person, or dies because they're an ass, they all die no matter what. In most of horror, we're not supposed to care about who dies, but at least the characters are authentically disposable.

I also like how absurd the reality of the deaths can be, which falls in line with the nihilistic and cynical tone of the movies, about how unfair and arbitrary life can be.

There's also a refreshing facelessness to the series, there are no real marketable protagonists and villains that you can buy as Halloween costumes. There is no in effect, "mascot" for the series, the closest thing that comes is that infamous bus.

and then theres the foreshadowing and symbolism

what do you like about it beyond the deaths

I love how "Realistic" these movies are, in the sense that there's not an actual killer with a mask or anything. There have been plane crashes, car accidents, roller coaster derailments, bridge collapses, people getting hit by buses, people getting killed in weight rooms, and more.

Yes, the way the deaths are done in the movie is a bit exaggerated, but if you see 'Final Destination 2', you can NEVER look at a logging truck the same way again or drive comfortably behind one. If you watch 'Final Destination 3', you will be anxious about riding a rollercoaster afterwards.

I love how these movies stick with you like that.
