The plot had been rewritten. The same happened to the Artemis Fowl movie.

As an European, A Wrinkle in Time is nearly unknown for me. I only know that the book is very famous and called by many as a favorite. Still, both movies based on the book sucks massively. The 2018 even sucks so massively, even Chris Pine sucks in it. It's like Ryan Reynolds, who sucked in XMen Origins: Wolverine. That's really hard to manage!
