Democrats should see this movie!
Are you sad that Hillary lost? Do you feel that Trump has stolen Camelot from you?
Maybe this movie will reflect your feelings.

shareThe OP has no idea what they and other Trumpbots got themselves into.
The villainy you teach me I will execute-and it shall go hard but I will better the instruction.
The sad fact is that JFK's Democrat party is long gone as JFK himself. JFK would not recognize today's Democrats. Taken out of time and placed in today's world, I guarantee you that JFK would be a Republican today.
shareOh, the old "JFK would be a Republican today" baloney.
No, he wouldn't. Claiming otherwise shows no understanding of JFK on policy.
And the Republican party has gone to the far right, not the Democrats to the dfar left.

The difference is that the far left hasn't taken over the Democratic party. But the far right indeed has taken over the Republican party.
And, no, anyone who knows anything about Kennedy on policy could never seriously accuse him of Republican equivalency today.

Any honest person who follows politics would be willing to admit that both sides have people on the extreme. For example, the rise of Bernie Sanders and "democratic socialism" was a push to the hard left.
This thread kind of reveals how dumb too many Americans are about their own history.
JFK would indeed be a Democrat today, based on all his policy positions. He'd fit into the corporate center-left as a New Democrat since he lowered taxes for much of the public the way Clinton and then Obama did.
Bernie Sanders, though not officially a Democrat (he caucuses with them) is a throwback to a classic FDR-modeled old Democrat. Ted Kennedy was in that mold, and Senators Warren and Brown are of that variety in recent times.
The fact of American politics is that Democratic politicians (not Democrat politicians, which just makes anyone using it that way look stupid) are almost uniformly center-left now while a steady faction of the center-right has moved to join them over the last decade while the rest of the right has taken a hard swing to the right (one-third of it now in the alt-right after decades of being relegated to a more fringe, low double-digit standing).
It is far more realistic to say that Presidents Eisenhower and George H. W. Bush would be Democrats today, while Reagan would definitely not be a Trump supporter at the least.
Exactly! Never a republican. He believed in separation of church and state, and he was an atheist. No modern day republicans are known to be atheist.

The fact that it's an incredible film should not be a partisan matter. I'm a Democrat and loved the film, but not because of the political views of the Kennedys (which the film doesn't even really touch on.)
