John Hurt looked like he was a 100 years old.
I couldn't believe how much he'd aged.

That Time War, man. It really got to him.
shareMy wife and I just saw Jackie. I am a history buff so I enjoyed the mockup of the White House of 1963. But I was completely bored with the John Hurt scenes in the movie.
He was great as Caligula in "I, Claudius" on Masterpiece Theater decades ago.
He's ALWAYS looked old. Good thing he didn't base his career on romantic leading man. Wonderful actor.
shareJohn Hurt has always looked 100 years old
shareHe was battling cancer at the time and sadly just passed away
shareI just read that. R.I.P.

Your post may have contributed to his death. How can you live with yourself?
shareWow, what a kind gesture that comment is.
shareIt's in reference to a George Carlin routine. Looking back, I see that's not in any ways obvious. I was certainly not trying to be serious.
shareYeah, George Carlin was really talented in cynical sarcasm. I am somewhat familiar with his routines but you're right, I was oblivious to your reference. Sarcasm that relies heavily on body language or tone of voice, doesn't carry well over text. Pretty logical, but easy to forget or disregard, in the spur of the moment ;) Take care!

I thought it was Max von Sydow before the credits rolled.

He was seriously ill with terminal cancer from which he died a few days ago. Brave man to keep working right until the end.
