I hate to admit this, but people who love to troll, insult, bash, swear are the ones that let this happen! I'm very sad to hear that it's shutting down, message board is my favorite section on IMDB.. :(

Feel very dissapointed, even though I truly confess that the haters annoyed me the whole way through but all of the users, I mean everyone, indirectly taught me how to do better in sarcasm, jokes, antics, banter and I swear to God, you guys made my days cause I laugh so hard that once in a while, my stomach ache (a good thing).

I used to be weak at sarcasm when involving a debate with friends but since I have used this application for 2 years, it keeps getting better and better.

Hate to say this but goodbye users. Hope we can talk again after this.

Yea a lot of pillocks and thier hatertude are responsible, but the cynic in me says it's todo with IMDb being owned by Amazon and there "commercial interests" sad but possible?

You can use ChimeIn (https://chimein.co) for discussions on any IMDb page: titles, names. You need to add the tool to your browser, but no website can take away anyone's posts.

ChimeIn also copies your posts into their system if you ask them (mailto:[email protected]) as long as they're accessible (Feb 20, according to IMDb).

Agreed. It took me awhile to get used to it. Now I go to moviechat.org - it’s the only message boards that I have found to be complete and have a pretty nice following. I believe they also archived approx 6-7yrs of IMDb boards.

I do greatly suspect that not only are Jeff Bezos and Col Needham behind this, but more powerful film companies pressuring them by whatever means. People go overboard picking films apart, and some form of flash-posting, paid trolling, or whatever, could easily be used against a film competitors wanted to destroy. Bezos and Needham not only don't give a crap, but don't want to admit they were intimidated and threatened by film companies, so they make up silly cover stories about its all being trolls instead of simply employing moderators.
