Seriously, does Jackie Chan's character influence the story in any significant way? Even in the ending fight where he attacks the terrorists it's the counter-terrorist team that finishes the job.
It feels to me like they took an unpolished political thriller that could work just fine on its own and randomly slapped over an unfinished Jackie Chan movie to draw in larger audience, and somehow it turned out not to be a complete disaster, lol.
Imagine Patriot Games but with old Chinese man bullying Jack Ryan to give him the names by planting explosives in his backyard as a side plot.
