WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STORY FLOW??

Okay, so didn't at one time (When they were planning to have a a child) they had their own apartment in the basement? And now it looks like that has gone by the wayside because they're back in their old bedroom again ....

And what happened to Molly's writing career?? Wasn't her book supposed to be picked up by a major publisher? Nothing mentioned anymore about that!

They moved back upstairs years ago.

At this point, they're just trying to wrap things up. I don't think they want to waste any more time on Molly's writing. They probably realized that the viewers don't really care about it. They know everyone is rooting for them to finally have the baby they wanted so that's the focus with the show ending. It's nice to have a happy, new beginning as the ending.
