Season 3 baby.

I'm sure whatever happened to season 3 baby was played out, but apparently I missed it. Can someone tell me what happened?

Last I remembered from season 3 was molly's big announcement right in the middle of a tornado.

Some areas didn't get to see the pregnancy announcement in the finale. Then they just dropped it like it never happened the next season. There was a mention in the season 4 premiere of things not working out-- whether that was infertility or a miscarriage was left up to the viewers.

I don't recall them saying anything in the season 4 premiere about things not working out either. I love the show (hate that it's ending!) and I still watch the re-runs in syndication, and unless I've repeatedly missed something, the pregnancy story line was just dropped and never mentioned again.

I'm in the US, and I definitely didn't see the pregnancy announcement during the season 3 finale. I was confused when I came to the board and some people were saying that Molly announced she was pregnant during the tornado scene. I think I remember a poster from Canada saying that they saw it, but it was so long ago I can't remember that poster's name. I do remember that the finale was delayed in the US due to us actually having a tornado in some states on the original air date. When they finally showed the finale here, there was no mention of Molly being pregnant. Then of course season 4 started and lots of things changed, so it was just a weird transition between those two seasons. Is that also when Peggy's boyfriend the Captain disappeared?

Season 3 was nothing but trying to have a baby. When they decided to drop the storyline, they had to explain why there would be no talk of having a baby. So as Mike & Molly stood in the kitchen, they hugged and he spoke of things not working out the way they wanted them to. Referring to the entire previous season. They never said she had a miscarriage. But they did indeed announce she was pregnant-- just not everyone saw that ending. So they left it up to the viewer to decide what "things not working out the way we wanted" meant. So that either means they gave up because the pregnancy just wasn't going to happen. Or she was pregnant at the end of the finale for some viewers or off screen during time elapsed between seasons (since sometimes there is a time jump) and there was a miscarriage. It was a way to placate the people who did see the pregnancy announcement and the ones who didn't. They had to explain it somehow. To never speak of it again would be weird for the viewers.

I guessed that she may have taken a home test and had a false positive. Something though should have been said.

I had to download the Canadian airing of that episode but I saw it. If I'm not mistaken Canada aired the original episode first and then the baby announcement was removed in the CBS airing. It confused a lot of people on this board.

It's mentioned near the end of the season 4 premier. I remember they're standing in the kitchen and Molly is getting teary and apologizing to Mike.

Yes, I got the DVD on Netflix to confirm my posts. I was a little off with the verbiage. But in the season four premiere, Molly is apologizing to Mike for a list of things. She says, "Most of all for not being able to give you the baby I know you wanted so much."

The viewer can take the reason behind that any way they want to. It was addressed to explain the absence of the baby making talk in the new season. I knew they talked about it. There it is.
