Did they adopt a black baby?
The baby looks like he's black.
shareYet another series ended with adopting a baby and an announcement of a pregnancy. Really? We can't think of something original? I used to love this show. It was so witty. Too bad it's cancelled, and so sad the finale was pretty much copied from other series' finales.
shareMy thoughts exactly. Didn't they do the same thing on the King of Queens?
shareDidn't they do the same thing on the King of Queens?Well, they certainly did the same trope on Rules of Engagement for that finale. Sadly, I'd long abandoned KoQ by their final seasons so I'll trust your memory on that one.
It was part of the KofQ finale. This show shares a few similarities with that one.
shareIt's too bad that they decided to cancel this show, in Melissa McCarthy's words " because I decided to get healthy"!! They really could have had gone a different way and praised her for "getting healthy", and had Mike get on the bandwagon to better health. Afterall, didn't this whole series start with Mike meeting Nolly at an "overeaters anonymous meeting??
shareMolly still had her shopping addiction. She is thinner but not very thing. The show still could have worked. She could still be shown to struggle with staying on a healthier plan. It's probably just a MM excuse. She outgrew the show.
share?A big consideration is economics, especially in Mike & Molly?s case. Everyone initially signs a six-year deal. The six years will be up this season. This is when having a movie star as your lead becomes not such a good thing. License fees (how much the network will pay for each episode) are usually determined in advance and then putting together your cast and production crew is like an NBA franchise building a team under the salary cap. Sometimes the costs are just too prohibitive.?
Facebook doesn't always tell the truth. Especially in their advertising for a weight loss pill.
Those question marks should have been quotation marks.
shareI thought the baby was black also.
shareIt looked like an "it" indeed. I'm pretty sure they used an animatronic baby, or whatever the term is, for the first shot we saw. Some of the footage as the credits rolled looked like perhaps a real infant was also used.
Maybe the fake latex baby skin on robot dolls just looked non-Caucasian to some. He certainly did not look Black - or any real ethnicity apart from Hasbro/Mattel to my eyes. Apologies to all concerned if it was actually your real human child in there all the way. Blame it on makeup and bad lighting???
Eeek!!! I'm getting dressed.
The baby looked pretty "white" to me. Just looked like a generic baby.
shareThe baby was not black.
shareWhen she first came out into the waiting room at the hospital, the baby looked quite "white", but the last scene, in the cradle, the baby definitely looked very black, indeed.
share^^^^THIS^^^^
"Vulgarity is no substitute for wit".
Now that you mention it, from what I have read, black babies get born a bit whiter and it takes a few hours for the melanine to get to the surface of the skin. So wouldn't be surprised if indeed they adopted a black baby and the production counted in that piece of information :p
shareI too thought the baby looked slightly darker complected, I felt he might be of mixed race, or partly Latino.
I don't mind the ending with adopting a baby then being pregnant. So what, it was on King of Queens, a show I adore.
It was a wonderful happy ending for both shows.
