The real, ignored star of the show...


Is Highclere estate, itself.
It always bothered me that we are shown limited scenes of the grounds and the surrounding villages and homes.
Not even the grounds men who mow that enormous lawn, which must have taken days with the instruments used at the time.
I wish they'd done some scene involving that remarkable belfry.

The exterior shots appear to be CGI. Especially the shots in the introduction.

Interior shots? I don't know. The villages and homes appear to be physical locations.
