Oz was a real jerk in this

I get that both his girlfriend and Heather's boyfriend were dodgy people but that doesn't make it alright for Oz to completely screw them both over the way that he did. They are both supposedly in long term relationships but Oz thinks he can just waltz up and take Heather straight back because they dated for a long time during and after high school? He took it upon himself to go and kiss her before he had even mentioned his problems to Mia and then he just starts kissing Heather again at the reunion with her boyfriend a few metres away??? What the hell! Ok so the Dron guy was a bit of a tool but he hadn't actually done anything that wrong, but we're supposed to cheerlead Oz screwing him over and Stiffler knocking him out?

Also Oz was all a bit up himself over his job and his dance off show, supposedly over that weekend he's suddenly become really ashamed of his whole career and everything he's done? Was there supposed to be some sort of implication that he'd been on drugs before with Mia taking E's and him being off his face on the dance off show?

I dunno, overall I love this film and think they handled it all really well, but you can see why Oz's character was deemed surplus to requirements for the Wedding

reply

Yeah not really a fan of his.

No wonder they didn't care for him in the wedding movie. The other characters are more likeable

Yeah, they really screwed up with his character.
I think they might have implied he was trying to be something he wasn't and lost sight of who he was as a result of the company he was keeping.
But the Oz from the first 2 movies would never pick up and move away from the love of his life for a job. I mean they could at least try and write in something plausible like they disagreed on kids or something so decided to go their seperate ways. His character seemed rushed without much consideration.

Agreed OP. This is just one of the many reasons why this wasn't a good movie. Everything was so forced, even more so than in the original, and both Oz and Stifler were complete dicks. It would have been smarter to have tamed Stifler a bit, and make him more likable, with a bit of his old self brought back near the end to take revenge. He could still be a party hound, just not as *beep* like before. Oz used to be pretty decent as the dumb jock, but he was a dick in this one.

Oz reunited with his first love - plain and simple.

Mia slept with other guys
and Heather's boyfriend wanted to switch dates....but Oz was the worst?

are you insane?

^^This.

The only part of Oz I really found to be unbelievable was him being an on air personality. How in the hell did the SHY sensitive guy from the first two movies become an on air sports personality? It would have been more believable had he been like a producer or something (I could buy that). I do agree with OP about the details of their breakup.

As for him and Heather, the guy was always in love with her. As he stated she ended it with him, so he was clearly not over her. Plus yeah I was totally able to root for them as they were both in terrible relationships.

Shy guy? Oz was considered a jerk before he met Heather who would play females left and right along with Stiffler, Which is why Stiff was so shocked in Oz as he started falling for Heather.

Anyway as for my take on the thread in general, that's life. We all do/did messed up shit some time or another in our life because we're human and not perfect. If you meet someone you really care about and then by great chance get to see them again, hey. Take that opportunity to have them back if you feel the need to. Heather clearly helped bring the best out of Oz and that's a big part of why he loved her so much.

Play females left and right???

Maybe you should go back and rewatch the original movie

reply

I don't need to go back and watch anything. I own the movies, and have watched it already recently so save it. Oz was a dog before his feelings growing for Heather helped make him a better man. You go back and see it for yourself clown.

reply

Oh my god go back and watch. Oz was immature whereas Stifler was a dog. There is a big difference. Stifler was the hump em and dump em guy. Oz was trying to be like Stifler but failed. That was Oz's arc in the original movie. Hence in the closing scene when Oz says "let's just say we had a good night together" he had grown up and developed real feeling hence why he didn't brag about his conquest.

Clown.....okay go away now and let the adults talk now

reply

You're not an adult, you're an idiot plain and simple who clearly knows nothing about this movie. Bye now.
