Given the combo of Gosling and the director you would have thought this would be much better. The atmospherics are present in this film but I found myself laughing at it, not that it was intended to be funny. There is no story or characters worth investing in so that pretty much kills it.

shareIt's because of Drive that this film has bad reviews. This is actually more similar to Refn's work than Drive was. I think that if you watch it knowing it's supposed to be pretty more that it's supposed to be entertaining (Drive), you can like it. I did.

Thats right give the people what they want meaning drive 2 next time and as a director you should make movies that will get you the most money and give you praise. It doesnt hurt to make at least one sequel in your directing life. I just dont understand why they didnt make drive especially since they had the same actor and such.

The story is done, leaving the audience to come to their own conclusions about the ending.
I love Drive, its one of my top 3 films of all time, but a sequel I feel would perhaps spoil the ambiguity and mystery of the first film.
