shareYes, thus forgiving him. Gosling was looking to fight "God" (Chang), and was looking for forgiveness. He killed his own father with his bare hands. Obviously Chang isn't a god, but his past has made him almost like an untouchable urban legend. It's almost like gosling was looking to get beat by something. A lot of metaphors in this film.
