So now that Tuck is not JUST a travel agent, he's a better catch?

Yes, that really, really bugged me.

No.. I didn't think this would need explaining but the reason why is simply because their marriage/relationship didn't work out because being that he had to basically live a double life the consequences of that obviously caused a rift in their relationship.. Now that she knows he's actually a spy for the CIA she understands, hence why she said its nice to finally meet YOU at the end.

reply

Yeah, I think the ending was stupid although I started out really enjoying the movie. The ending just sent the wrong message, like now that Tuck was a badass agent then his ex got interested again. She didn't give a damn before?
I can't understand how Lauren could pick FDR over Tuck? Very weird ending.

"I love you as I know you. Because I know you. As you are. Good and bad. Better and worse."

I still don't think the ex suddenly re-accepted him because now she somehow gained some type of mental clarity with regards to Tuck after learning he was a Federal Agent. She shifted way too fast for me to either buy into it or to suspend my disbelief.

Even in a light hearted story kind of way,...given the build-up of the whole movie, the ending came across as thrown together, an "easy way out."

Choosing Tuck in half a heart-beat just screams out the perfect choice. Agreed, very weird ending, indeed.

No, I agree. It just seemed very superficial. A really quick, lame and unsatisfying ending. The movie was funny and entertaining at first but damn that ending ruined alot.

"I love you as I know you. Because I know you. As you are. Good and bad. Better and worse."

reply

How old are you guys??? Smh you can tell by the way she looked at him that she's not superficial etc but whatever

reply

Could also be (besides the "evasives are over" issue) that their kid wanted to hang out more with his cool daddy so she gave another shot to their relation because for the sake of the child.

"That was a courtesy flush. I'm not actually done yet"

reply

You said it when you mentioned the word "cool." Neither the ex nor his child held him in such regard when he was still being "Tuck the man," same as always. It was specifically seeing dad do "cool" things that suddenly, it appears, make him a more attractive prospect.

Petty.

Yeah, but I also said that it was his kid who thought he was a cooler dad. Would you blame him?

"That was a courtesy flush. I'm not actually done yet"

reply

So the kid is taught that the definition of what makes a dad "cool" is being a federal agent,...? He's still the same guy, treating the kid the same. That's a superficial reason to "rekindle" a marriage.

Even if it changes the relationship between father and son, it's still a pretty low move to use the kid as a pawn.

Being an action man type is sexy. being a travel agent is boring.

Although as we saw in the previous scenes, being a spy also puts your loved ones in danger but the film-makers did not bother with that for the ending.

Its that man again!!

reply

A hard man who is soft on the inside is sexy as hell especially if he looks like Tom Hardy!!

reply

Bugged me too. All of a sudden he is sposed to get back with the chick that didn't want him and was dating as long as he was boring and safe. FDR was a slore and deserved no one. He lied to this woman all through this movie. At the pet store, at the art gallery. None of these things are his interests. His relationship with her is doomed.

reply

Seemed like he was no longer "safe" to the ex so now he is more appealing. He didn't change jobs so he would be spending the same amount of time away.

"I think I liked it better when I thought Sylar ate brains."

reply

Yeah his son was so rude when he said to him "what do u know about fighting you are just a traveling agent". N when in the car he just make this look like he is bored of his dad like Tuck is a loser. The mother did the same thing too.

Cant believe they end up together. He deserves a better woman. I would accept it if the wife had shown some sign that she's still hurt like she still love him. But its obvious that shes so over him.

reply

I took it as he was away a lot and lying all the time because he was really a CIA agent. That was probably hard on their marriage and the wife probably knew he was lying about something but didn't know what. Once she found out he was an agent, she realized that was the reason for all the trouble. She thought that they could start over with no lies and everything out in the open.

That being said, I HATED the end of this movie. I would have definitely chosen Tuck. FDR was lying to Lauren 90% of the time about himself, which is what Lauren had fallen in love with...WTH!!!

BTW, I forgot...who did she sleep with? I can't remember.
