Stupid thing, to call being British a flaw. That movie "Love Actually" exaggerated the power of the British accent but it wasn't completely off. I mean when a girl/woman has that accent, it automatically adds 1.5 points to the 1-10 scale for attractiveness. Reverse those numbers for New York & New Jersey accents:-) I would think that English, Irish, Scots & Australians get a bonus for their accents and would receive warm welcomes in the US.
Anyway, please don't think the people in the US see it as a "flaw", quite the opposite.

yeah i don't why my dad slags the welsh off sometimes personally i have friends who are but what makes it stupid my dads mum is half welsh so he has welsh in him, dumbass ay, mind u i think the Scottish wouldn't want u calling them british lol

I'm Scottish and consider myself British or Scottish, I think very few Scots these days mind being called British because we are, but slip up and call the wrong Scot an Englishman and he will likely cut you with a broken bottle and pee on your corpse. Some are touchy that way.

Opinions are just onions with pi in them.

my guess is they didnt mean anything serious about it, it was just a joke. a bad tasted one, definitely, but a joke, built on the notion many british men are gay.
