No Star Trek references at all?

You have the younger version of Kirk squaring of against a 'younger' version of Picard. Apart from playing that rap/rock song from the beginning of Star Trek 2009 I didn't notice anything else. What a wasted opportunity.

old topic but just stumbled on it. I am sure you heard another star trek reference, i.e. when he claims to be the captain of a cruise ship?

reply

Actually i found two references 1, Captain of a cruise ship 2, tuck tells FDR "You turn into captain horny pants" which we all know kirk is a bit of a lady's man.

"Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the best intentions"

These two quotes are not a perfect answer, but I can't help but hear one with the other when Chris Pine says them:
FDR to Witherspoon's character after she has seen her ex-boyfriend:"I don't believe in mistakes."
Kirk to Spock after the cheating charge: "I don't believe in no-win situations."

I'd take that as a reference same concept.

"Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the best intentions"
