Has this film ruined Browning's career?

Such a talented young actress (loved her in the Lemony Snicket movie, which I'll probably never be able to watch again thanks to this movie), completely destroyed in a pretentious porno. We've seen everything now, she has no mystique about her whatsoever.

This was always going to be a risky movie to act in, many critics have described the performance as "brave". I wouldn't argue, but also there is a thin line between bravery and stupidity. She obviously knew what she was getting into, but put a lot of faith in amateur film makers that hasn't been returned in kind.

I hope she recovers from this and goes on to better things.

So an actress has no more "mystique" after you have seen her naked? I guess you would apply this rule to women in general. My wish to see Emily Browning in other movies is much greater after I saw her in Sleeping Beauty. This movie showed that she can really do some interesting stuff, not just making tragic faces in horror and fantasy movies.

I don't think performing in this film would hurt her career in the least. Most popcorn eating, run of the mill movie goers, never even heard of the film. Now a movie failure like Sucker Punch could do more harm to her career than this ever can. That's because it is a huge budget film that lost money causing investors to think twice about gambling on a film again where she is the headliner. All in all I think she will be alright. I don't think we will see her doing infomercials any time soon.

No, not really. For one thing, not many people know this movie exists. It wasn't exactly a major release. It was an art house film.

Plus, I'd prefer to believe people are more mature than that.

Exactly. Most of the idiots who would hold this film against her, have never seen this film because they don't watch films like this.

Also, it's not "porn" just because she's naked a lot. She's a beautiful girl and she has a beautiful body. Some people really need to grow the *beep* up. Even in "Lemony Snickets" she was sexualized a little bit. At the end Jim Carrey's character was trying to marry her--and it probably wasn't just for the money. . .

Also, her career is not in any worse shape than anyone else's. Are Megan Fox, Blake Lively, Emma Watson and all the other actresses her age who DON'T take their clothes off even when the role calls for it doing any better? And Juno Temple was in the family film "Malificient" even though she has gets naked in every other role (so does Angela Jolie for that matter). All Browning has demonstrated is that she is capable of doing sophisticated adults roles in films like this or the even more obscure "Summer in February" (where she has more full-frontal nudity) and not just big-budget Hollywood "family" crap.

I think if any film was going to ruin a career, it would more likely to have been Sucker Punch, rather than this.

BTW she's been involved in another 10 odd productions since Sleeping Beauty. I think she's doing OK.🐭

I might get hate for this, but I have always wished she did Twilight instead of Kristen, even if those movies suck i wish she was in them (just to see her in a vampire movie)

I dont know what she is thinking, first this then sucker punch, not to judge but im not sure I understand

She would be really great in a vampire, preferably as the vampire itself. Who knows maybe she'll star in one of those costume drama adaptations of a classic.

I don't think this film ruined her career. It actually made me want to search out more of her movies. 
