Did anyone notice

How boring this movie was for me during the 15 minutes that I watched it?

Why call it Sleeping Beauty? (oh you say she gets paid to sleep *near* people - big *beep* deal!). Clearly the title seeks to cash in on the classic story and it's misleading. Typical of the utter crap that is Australian enema *cough*, cinema.

No I didn't notice how boring this movie was for you, because I didn't see you watching it.

Here's an idea. Why don't you put the 15 minutes of boredom behind and NOT come here and start a stupid thread about it. How frickin' pathetic must people's lives be that they actually have to start threads about movies they didn't like and only watched for 15 minutes?

reply

It's based upon a Japanese novel called "The House of Sleeping Beauties."

LOL! Yeah sure! A film the whole family would gladly rush out to see based on the ads, trailers and promotional material.

The film is based in part on the novel The House of the Sleeping Beauties by Nobel laureate Yasunari Kawabata.🐭

Too bad your mind is so closed to both: all the great Australian cinema; and an explanation for the title (that makes perfect sense).

This could be "piling on",
but there was an older movie that was a 'porno movie' titled ALICE IN WONDERLAND. It rather shamelessly seemed to use the same name as the fairy tale story, and even included characters of the fairly tale, complete with costuming, but was NOT a children's movie.

While some of the actual original book versions of fairy tales were not exactly children's tales, (owing to veiled political satire and, shall we say, "adult behavior", and some language), that movie version went well into the realm of current USA "NC-17" ratings. This movie clearly never intended any such confusion.
Unfortunately, the world at large has pretty much used up most of the one and two word movie titles long ago, and recycles them pretty regularly, and even with the added confusion of multiple movies from different countries choosing the same name, but with completely different movies.
Look up the title FAIR GAME, and you should find no less than four movies with that same title. Also, there was a Brazilian movie made in English, for distribution in North America and Europe with the title HIGH ART, which was released at nearly the same time an American movie with the same title was also released, and they have no similarity beyond the title. If you never knew about the Brazilian film, it is most likely because the name pretty much blocked it from being released in theaters, but it was shown on pay cable TV.
That's life...

I enjoyed it because I was getting constant erections from Emily Browning sleeping in the nude.
