To be honest you can take pretty much any two films inside of a genre and compare them. It's not shocking that they are very vaguely similar and it doesn't really mean anything at all. A lot of the parallels are a little contrived but that's what a comparative essay is about; forcing similarities and making them sound more important and meaningful than they are.
