Well, it is a bit of a mixed bag but compelling enough to continue on. Sofia Vergara is doing pretty good so far, though, in ways, this feels partly like one of the telenovela programs from Latin America.

To me, one minor flaw at the start is how nervous and skittish Blanco is portrayed by Vergara and this is after she has spent ten years in the drug world and after taking care of some business (that I won't spoil). It would just seem by this point, she would have exuded more outward confidence.

And lastly, to one of my acting pet peeves - whether or not people chain smoked back in the 70s, will writers and creators get off the kick where they think smoking cigarettes is good acting. It is so cliched and there are easier and better way to portray a scene by this overused idiotic behavior.

Agreed. Cig smoking in every scene is annoying. Hated it in Peaky Blinders.
Makes me nauseous - as an ex-smoker.

If it’s accurate to the time period it doesn’t bother me and I’m a non-smoker. Not like you can smell them.

You’re griping is like saying you wished women in 70s movies had shaved pubic areas instead of sporting full bushes during nude scenes.

Or people drove electric cars.

Or weren’t racist.

I watched the first two episodes and I think I'm done. Nothing here great or compelling. Seems like a mixture of all the rag to riches drug stories we have seen, but not as well done. It's not bad, but certainly not great, very middle of the road. I think it suffers from having no other interesting characters. There is Blanco, but nobody else really in between.

I especially agree about how she looks nervous in tense situations. Doesn't seem like someone who was smuggling drugs for ten years at all.

I have one episode left, that I will make myself force watch.

I just found it so boring.

I did that with yellow jackets. I didnt like it. They ruined it by being so non credible..

I pushed thru and although the series wasnt the best, I found her acting quite good. I know her from Modern Family so this is a far cry from that character.
