Great? I gave this movie a 2. The film is terrible, embarassing really, considering the talent involved and the resources they had. A score of 5.9 is too HIGH.

I just watched it and thought it was really good! I think the problem with it was timing, it just got lost in the middle of other summer blockbusters and comedies. I think if it had been released right around now in the holiday season, it would have been alright because there's not many romantic comedies/dramas out right now. But great movie overall!

No I have to disagree with you as I thought it was so dreadful that it should never have been made, it made Julia Roberts look like an unpleasant bitter woman and Tom Hanks as well I don't know what - yet another sad case.

I thought the movie was really sweet. It wasn't Oscar worthy or anything, but it was cute, kind of upbeat, and fun to watch. I think the reviewers are being wayy to hard on it. Sometimes it's nice to just watch a cute little film.

Is it the best movie of 2011? No, but I think it's a cute, feel-good type of movie. I actually liked Larry's character and the overall message of the movie about new beginnings/starting over.

For some reason, people have the idea that unless a movie is a "9" or "10" on IMDB, it's not very good. I've got news for you, people, a "6" is a pretty respectable rating. It's not great, but it's not bad either.

Do you some of you really want to rate this movie as a "9" or "10", rubbing shoulders with the greatest films in cinematic history??? Really?????

There's nothing wrong with loving a movie, but how about getting a little perspective. It doesn't belong in the same ballpark as films like Citizen Kane or Dr. Strangelove or Apocalypse Now.

But just for the record, I did not like Larry Crowne. The story and execution were annoying and several of the characters were exasperatingly bad. Hanks's character was okay though, and Takei's character was rather refreshing.
