The main concept of this story was very interesting but as I watched the development of the plot, it gradually became boring and predictable. I love Tom Hanks' character but maybe I was a little tired of watching the same kind of character as in other movies. I cannot avoid thinking that everything was recycled from old anotations that were previously throwed in a bin.
I just got around to seeing it and I really enjoyed it. It wasn't earth moving, but I liked the story. Instead of crying about it or getting p!ssed about it, Larry tried to find a new job. When that didn't work, he went back to school.
This was a guy who was happy in his job, and got that taken away from him. His wife left and he had a ton of debt. Had he kept his job, or moved up to corporate, he would have been a content person.
Instead, he had to go back to the beginning. And then he picked himself up rather than mooch off of others.
And I liked how he and Talia got along. It showed a mature side for her, and that he wasn't bereft of fun. He could have been the grumpy, old man angry at the world, but he was able to see that the world still had some unexpected fun in it.
I also like how he and Talia didn't end up together, and how he didn't SUDDENLY find fame and wealth.
I wouldn't say, "the hots". I'd say it was more of an innocent crush. She was a free enough spirit that she was able to approach him, but didn't throw herself at him. At most, I'd say that she felt if they were closer in age she could have found herself in a relationship with him.
Yeah maybe, but that was just her 'way'. I don't think she thought of it as flirting... She liked him and she wanted to help him. I don't think she wanted to have sex with him!
