The doors

What was up with the doors opening and closing by themselves? Did the lady open the door when Tess was asleep? That doesn't make sense. Was it Keith? He was asleep.

It was supposed to be that thing in the basement and you're right, it doesn't make sense.

I originally thought it was the lady. But after finishing the movie, I have a suspicion that it was supposed to be just the doors themselves. Kinda like when things creak or shift in a house by themselves. That's not very convincing, but I think that might have been the intent.

It was her. You could see the cellar door was open as Tess was going into the living room to check on Keith. Then you can see she closes it behind her as she goes back down.

the open door at the beginning must have been the lady... the other ones just close on their own. im assuming they were built that way, and also a basement should not have a lock on the outside, let alone never be able to be unlocked. its designed to keep people in.

I don't understand how the mutant lady was able to open and close the basement door at will, when it seemed to lock everyone else in.
