Is his character supposed to be based on Max Landis (famous screenwriter who was dropped by his agent and talent agency for multiple sexual harassment allegations).

I just assumed it was your typical rapist who thinks he's a good guy. I don't think it was an intentional nod to any actual person in the industry.
