OT: Trump vs Clinton

I know we're not supposed to speak on politics, but I'm actually flabbergasted at the state of America's political state right now. Anyone else in disbelief of how bad this election season has gotten?

It's a freaking nightmare. I live in the UK and even I know that America is screwed.
It seems like one big joke. Trump is the worst IMO, He's like a playground bully 😂. Clinton is pretty damn bad to. Good luck surviving this election Americans!

How's the post-brexit situation going for you, and what side were you on for the referendum? And how did you feel about your new PM and government overall?

I have been referring to the outcome of this election as "Welcome to the Terror Dome." Because when one of these two jokes win, life as we know it will be over and is likely to be terrifying.

The world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters.

I'm watching. This is asinine. I don't know how strict the rules are about discussing politics on here, so I'll just say that I'm proudly voting for one of those two people on stage, and it's the one actually acting like an adult. ;)

reply

I will say I don't like either one and I hope America goes to a real three party system in the future.

I used to dislike both, but my opinion has vastly changed over the last few months.

But I've always hated the two party system. So many people vote within party lines without using a mind of their own. I would love to see a future where no one has a classification and people actually vote for who they agree with, not who they think they should agree with.

reply

That would be ideal. I have zero hope for humanity so this election is just reinforcing all of my negative opinions.

That sentence doesn't apply to either of the people on the debate stage. One is on the offense waiting for a chance to zing while the other hides behind an attitude of smug superiority.

100% in agreement with you all you have said.

OK, so you're probably going, "Is this like a Noxzema commercial or what?"

I for one, welcome our new meme overlords. and no matter who wins, we will have a meme for president.

I don’t feel this is really the place to have political discussions, and I tend to stay away from a lot of those conversations on this site. Both troll and non-troll versions alike. Politics, like religion, always seem to become a touchy subject at hand. But if I do have to make a rare input here, and these are just my opinions, yes, I’m leaning towards voting for one of the candidates. While she’s not a perfect candidate, I would still rather settle for her over wrecking ball Trump who’s just practically shooting himself in the foot at this point.

A third party candidacy would also be okay in my book if there is a higher chance for one to take place, libertarian or green party. I saw some potential from those 2008 candidates for instance, but not so much with this year’s lots imo. But I hear even countries with 3-three party systems aren’t exactly perfect either.

Honestly, i am flabbergasted with most of the worlds politics. Duterte (philippine president) has been kind of a nightmare and brazil political crisis scares me. I have freinds/family from both places and i am shocked how far things have gone.
