Favorite Fillers

This show has had a lot of fillers. Which are your favorites?
My absolute favorite filler is The Naked Truth and Shadow Play. I always keep going back to these two episodes. Love ShAck, Baby is also a great filler episode.

Agreed with the naked truth and shadow play. The first couple of seasons have the best filler and shadow play was an example of the writers actually trying something new. I loved the family drama in the first couple of seasons too and of course the amazing nat club arc which ended up being filler.

Shadow Play is underrated. It's such a great episode.

I liked the one where they get stuck in school because of a storm (the Perfect Storm). Even though there were some revelations I would consider that episode mostly filler.
Shadow Play was great. I loved how much effort the crew seems to have put in it and the theory that all of the stuff in the episode happened in one way or another and was just filtered through Spencer's drug addled mind.
Je Suis une Amie was also pretty good. I miss the time where the girls had hobbies, and dating problems, and sport tournaments instead of only obsession over A and Alison.
One filler episode that I didn't like was the Badass Seed. Aria trying to play director by propping a hat on was nothing short of cringe inducing and awkward.

The Perfect Storm
The Badass Seed
The First Secret
Let the Water Hold Me Down
The Naked Truth
Mona-Mania
Love Shack, Baby
Songs of Innocence
Songs of Experience
Looking back on seasons 1-2, they barely had any fillers and when they did they were fun to watch.

I LOVE Shadow Play! It got such a low score on here but it's one of my favourite episodes. I love film noir, though.

I wouldn't call Songs of Innocence and Songs of Experience fillers. Sure nothing much happens but imo they were both super important episodes and both were well executed in terms of PLL standard.

reply

I would possibly classify them as fillers because they really don't have any major plot developments that I remember, but they're absolutely necessary in terms of dealing with the girls' PTSD and bringing the show back around from the dollhouse. Those are the only two episodes of the series where I feel like they handled the Liars' reactions to the trauma that they've experienced realistically.
