Someone explain...

I need to go back and watch these, but can someone explain to me if Charlotte was A along, or not? I know Mona was revealed first, but was she just working for the real A?

reply

They definitely muddled this up by having the season 2 finale suggest that Mona was working for someone the whole time, and then back tracking. But the 6A finale seems to establish that Charlotte was not A the whole time. She started "the game" in season 3 after Mona was admitted to Radley and told Charlotte all about her A game.

The world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters.

like starshock said, they changed their mind cuz they werent actually sure who big -A was going to be during the season 2 finale.

the way they explained it was that it WAS cece talking to Mona, but instead of a red coat it was just a red bath robe. Mona, on drugs, hallucinated and thought it was alison, and explained how she did all the things alison told her to (get pretty, get popular). she then went on (for some reason) to explain all the stuff she did as -A. this intrigued CeCe so she took over the -A game, but did it in secret, Mona had forgotten about CeCe when she came off her drugs.

Mona was the only A from the time that Alison began receiving messages in 2x13 until she was caught in 2x25. Between seasons two and three, Charlotte met her in Radley and essentially learned how to play the game. They played together for a while during season three, but at some point the equality of the partnership ended and Charlotte took over. She kicked Mona and Toby off in 3x24 and had the game to herself (with Sara, I guess??) until 6x10.

I hope that helps!

thank you!

Until they prove me wrong in the series finale, I still stand by that Mona had a partner when she was original A that she still covers for, and this person is actually A.D.
this person was close with Charlotte in secret, not even Mona knows/or knew about it.
