I had just started watching the show...

And I'm gonna write my experience here, maybe some people are interested in reading it. I first tried to watch the show in 2013, and I thought, "How are people going to like this show? Every reveal that they're gonna have is almost always going to not lead them any closer to "A" because if it does, then the show would end, and they wouldn't have that." I am not looking to watch a show without a pay-off, so after the Pilot, I decided to stop. Not long ago I was asked by a streaming service in my country to subtitle it, so I did, and I decided to give it a try again. At first I was like, "This is trash." Then, I watch episode 3, "This is trash." Then, "This is trash, this is trash, this is trash." And without I realized, I'm on episode 18 now. LOL.

So, okay, here's my two cents. The casting was totally weird. It was kind of hard to suspend my disbelief and see the girls as 16 years-olds (I'm still struggling), maybe Lucy Hale, but the rest, I don't know, especially Shay Mitchell who looked like a grown woman. And Jenna! Oh my God, she looked way way too old to be in the same grade as them. Her casting was, by far, the worst. I couldn't believe that Sasha Pieterse was only 13 (she looked almost the same as the rest of the girls), and the fact that I knew her age also made the scene where a 27 or something Troian Bellisario afraid of her really weird. By the way, about Jenna, were her scenes intentionally hilarious? I always gigled whenever she showed up, and the girls got smart and left her alone without her knowing it and such, and I felt like she should always be accompanied by sitcom laughs or something. And man, the parts whenever they showed A's body parts doing something were always sooo cheesy! I grinned so wide when A was literally watching the girls on her TV and eating popcorn. If they tried to be menacing with those shots, it didn't work. At all.

Spencer is my favorite out of all the girls. I love how tough, head-strong, and confident she really is. At first I thought she is the least attractive among all the pretty girls with Lucy being the most beautiful, but then she's gotten more and more sexier with her personality and attitude. Troian's acting is also the best out of all of them, with Shay's being the worst (Ashley's #2 and Lucy's #3).

I don't like Mrs. Fitz and Aria's relationship. At all. And I could not believe they are romanticizing it. It's sooo icky. It's statutory rape! And I'm dissapointed that my favorite character, Spencer, the one with the most conscience, the brightest, has never called it out.

Out of all of A's tactics, the one that worked the most was when she turned Hanna into a total puppet, wrapped around her little finger. The scene where she made Hanna eat a dozen of pig-decorated cupcakes was the best. There should be more like that.

I don't like Lucas. Dude's creepy.

Love Emily's mom! I thought her arc is probably the best out of everyone. I was so sad when she threatened Paige's father, and her whole body was shaking. I wanted to give her a big hug. I was glad when Emily did.

I don't like the music. Makes the show seems cheaper than it should be.

Glad they ditched the Instagram-filter look that clouded the first half of the season.

I guess, that's it for now. Anyone have any question?

What do you think about mona so far?

reply

She doesn't appear enough to leave a lasting impact. She's a fun character, though, from what I've seen of her, but if I see more, I think she's gonna be irritating.

Who do you think A and Ali's killer are?

You haven't seen the best part.my favorite season is 3 and the worst is 6 .i hope you tell us more after A is going to reveal at the end of season 2

Spencer's also my favorite character and I definitely find it unrealistic that she would support the Ezria relationship. Who do you think A is at this moment? What do you think of Toby, Melissa, and Ian?

Unfortunately, you guys, I have been spoiled beforehand that Mona is A, so, I cannot answer that question at all. :( I have also been spoiled about some trans person in this show and that she has connection to the bigger A revelation or something. What I don't know is anything in between, so I'm watching for that and for the girls' relationship. I love how healthy it is. I see no backstabbing and the likes, the fights they are having are always about how they care about each other.

I think Toby is a great character, but I thought Keegan Allen isn't a very good actor based on his delivery which is quite slow. He'll improve, I believe, yes? I had a mild dislike towards Melissa at first, but I see that she's gotten more and more caring towards Spencer. Ian is just as creepy or maybe even more so than Ezra. I don't get the Rosewood male adults' fascination with high-school girl. Ian with Spencer and Ali? Garrett with Jenna? Ezra with Aria? Wren with Spencer? They're fricking kids. I'm in college, and I cringe at the thought of dating high-schoolers.

Oh, and I'm on the second season premiere, by the way. The season one finale is pretty exciting. It's not without its flaws, though.
- What Jenna did to Toby was rape. It was crystal clear. And the girls wanted to help her by keeping the footage hidden? What the heck? Spencer, what were you doing? You are smart and sensible, plus you are dating Toby!
- How did petite Mona manage to remove Ian's body out of the bell tower?

reply

Sadly Keegan gets worse lol. We will never know how Mona moved Ian's body. It's completely ridiculous that's why I was hoping Noel moved it or even Toby just to make it more realistic. Their friendship is so much fun to watch because they're bonded by such a tragic event and manage to come together in spite of everything with an unconditional love for one another.
