How long do you think the girls could continue to play teen characters

I think Troian is past her prime right now, but I don't think she even wants to play teen roles anymore so I guess thats okay.

Lucy I think can hold on for a few more years due to her young looks. Same with Ashley.

Not sure about Shay though.

None of them look like teenagers. I don't understand why everybody talks about how young Lucy looks. To me she's always looked her age.

reply

None of them. Troian is 30 and the others are in their late 20s. Shay and Lucy are aging well of course but they don't look like teenagers.

None of them but Lucy and Ashley could pull it off best. I don't think any of them should do more teen projects unless it's a horror movie where the "teens" are typically played by 20-somethings.

"Past her prime"? She looks beautiful. She looks like a grown woman, but phrases like that are so insulting. If women who don't look like teenagers are past their prime then why aren't all men pedophiles?

No I didn't mean it like that. She's so beautiful, but I just don't think she'll be able to pull off playing a teenager anymore. Didn't mean to offend you!

lol so butthurt

Realistically ,none of them could continue to play teens, that's why they did the time jump, to age the characters to a more believable screen age. The ladies all look fine but people get older and the show was really starting to push it with the "High School girls" conceit.

I thought Troian looked too old to be playing a high schooler even in season 1 when she was 25, but I still think she's gorgeous.

The way they styled Spencer in the pilot made her appear way older than 16. She was way too polished and her hair and makeup were so heavy and dark.

I think Lucy could play a teenager with the right make up and costume but it would still be stretching it pretty thin.
Shay and Ashley are past the teenage role part. It's time they settled for the twenty something parts.
I always thought Troian was a little too old to be playing a teenager (especially when they're doing flashbacks where she's suppose to be fifteen and is really twenty-five). However, after a couple of episodes I realized that her acting is one of the saving graces in this show so I decided to ignore it. I do hope though that she continues doing indie films and maybe trying on some diverse roles in them like p.e. playing a mother or an older, wiser figure. I feel like many movies play up on her looking fragile and needing of protection (Martyrs, Sister Cities) so it would be interesting to see her rather as the leader or protector in a film.

I think with the right looks, Troian would still be believable to pull off, well maybe not a teenager, but a college student. For example, in the movie Consent, she looks as young as she's ever been with very minimal make-up and straight hair. Look at this!

So gorgeous. Lucy can still pull it off. Ashley... not really. Shay has always looked the oldest out of all of them for me.
