OT: Inauguration

Anyone around here actually believe Trump’s going to last?

Look, I rarely wanna get involved in political discussions online and I know this forum isn’t the place to do so (again). But I sense a lot of folks here must have this sort of ominous feeling about this new kind of government. Might as well let that cat out of bag for this one....

Propositions.

For those that live in the states, are you or are you not satisfied with some of the propositions that your own state ended up with (e.g. recreational marijuana)?

For instances, recreational marijuana is finally legal in my state.

As a non-American, the one thing I do like about Trump is that (according to his previous statements) he's pretty adamant about how the USA should not interfere in other countries businesses, unless they're a direct threat to the USA. So that may lead to the USA into stepping down from the "world police"-role, and I like that. But his impulsiveness can be disastrous.

I've got nothing against God, it's his fanclub I can't stand

I think that's what a lot of Americans are afraid of here. He doesn't have the temper. He allows little things like celebrity comments and such to set him off via social media, even after his election. So it would be scarier to imagine what his temperament is going to be like soon when he gets involve in national security and foreign affairs.

I only want him to last so that Pence won't take office.

It's a lose/lose situation either way this presidential term. Even as a christian from a christian family, I found some of his strict and fundamentalist plans too extreme. Plus he seems very unapologetic about that HIV incident.

What I find funny is that a lot of people that voted for Trump did so claiming that they are sick of "PC society where everyone is triggered by everything" yet they just voted for a man that has a hizzy fit every time that he's criticized openly and will even refuse to respond to questions that paint him in a bad light.

Very ironic indeed.

I followed the campaign and election very closely this year, and I am extremely disheartened by the outcome. I consider myself a liberal person because I believe in equal rights for everyone, and I am saddened by the hatred and prejudice that has come into the spotlight in recent months. Though I do hate political labels, I can 100% say that I will always follow the candidate who spreads love, unity, and peace. So in short, no--I cannot get behind a man who has been so cruel and antagonistic.

Though I do agree with whoever said it's better than Pence. Pence is extremely conservative and believes in conversion therapy for homosexuality. Those darn gays just need a good round of praying the gay away *eye roll*
