OT: funny thing in casting today

I was holding casting for my next web series (horror fans are gonna love it) and an actor came in, he set down the script and said 'barely clothed?'

i had no idea what he was saying but then realized he was referencing a part in the script that says the character is barely clothed.

i said 'oh yeah, thats a thing'

so he just starts stripping down to his skivvies for the audition.

Awsome i love it when people give thier all and go all out thats determination.

it was certainly interesting watching him teeter on the edge of confidence and then not so suredness as he realized what he was doing but he ended up going for it.

as a general rule if someones not comfortable wiht nudity in the casting call they wont actually be comfortable with it on set and they will change their mind on the day of and ruin the shoot.

Thats true you must be very openminded about it and not overthink it and you cant be shy!

i can understand the hesitation as its a non-paying gig, so a lot of people are afraid of being exploited, secretly recorded and then not even getting the part. it can be a sketchy town.

its definitely going to be on youtube, they're all pretty short, less than 5 minutes.

im not sure when it will be out. it will take about 12 weeks to film and edit them all (give or take) and things tend to stretch longer. I could relase them as I finished but I also considered the idea of saving them all for october and uploading 3 a week that month.

after this my friend and I are working on a more story oriented horror mini series and we want that ready for october as well, so im not entirely sure. will definitely annoy you guys here when its done.

Lol i love youtube i can be on youtube all day if i had the time

Theres so many creative people on there its amazing

right now im planning to put it on a new channel as my current channel is home to a 'fan series' which is great for views, but not so great for potentially making a profit, even with later original uploads.

it was a lot of fun, casting is my favorite part. the reason im doing this web series in particular was because i really hate that when i do casting i can only give the roles to 2 or 3 talented men when theres usually more than 10 talented men that audition. so i thought a simple anthology that letes everyone show off with their own strengths would be ideal.

i got lucky in that there were just enough talented actors as there were leading roles available this time, so everyone i want to work with gets a good part.
