I don't watch a lot of television, to be honest, but the Rosewood police kind of remind me of Chief Wiggum. Absolutely clueless, constantly failing to catch criminals and just generally bumbling around.
Are there other shows where the police are as bad as the Rosewood PD?
im not sure of any that are as bad as PLL. Scream seemed to head in that direction as they break the rules a *beep* but even they had the saving grace of having their theory be that Emma was being framed instead of just falling for it.

shareRosewood PD is so bad that the show should have just said the town was suffering budget cuts and no longer had their own police department. Why even pretend to have cops if that's all the more they're going to matter...ESPECIALLY when the writers kept bringing in new detectives from out of the area that somehow acted just like anyone else in Rosewood?? That's were it crossed the line for me. Wilden and Garrett were acceptably crooked, but all of the out-of-towners should have unbiasedly done their jobs with at least some measure of competency.
One of the best things about the show Scream Queens is that the whole plot is intentionally one giant joke, so when their police department in season 1 was proven to be a laughingstock, it was acceptable because they played everything with the same type of nonsensical satire. It's refreshing to watch something that will play to the stereotypes of shows like PLL but also freely admits that it is supposed to be dumb.
