its so hard to say. i think its easier to say something is a favorite the farther back you can go, because we know whether or not they withstood the test of time.

with newer horror films its kind of a flavor of the month, at least for myself. its always scary the first time.

that being said a few have piqued my interest. I did love the Saw franchise, especially its early installments, i feel like thats a modern classic, so many sequels like back in the day. we dont get much of that anymore.

ive mentioned 'after' before and i really hope people go check it out on netflix. its kind of like the silent hill games. makes a better movie than the silent hill movies imo.

its missing a little of the jumps but its a beautiful story told in a horror package. thats one i keep coming back to.

outside of that its hard to say.

Very true. I definitely consider Saw a modern classic. Horror was in a dry spell and Saw gave it some new life. Everyone was obsessed with it and I rewatched the first 2 or 3 recently and loved them. I forgot to add Final Destination to my list. I like the concept of it. It's not without flaws but I appreciate e film trying to do something different and interesting. I also think the lead guy in The Ring is hot. I remember drawing "rings" on papers at school because we were all obsessed with that movie.

ive actually never see nthe ring though i am curious now that its had a resurgence.

final destination is another great one, was a pretty solid trilogy imo but havent liked the last two. ive actually met the writer/creator of final destination, we screened his new film which was a lot cheaper unfortunately.

The Ring is something that never scared me. I actually found it quite boring. The premise is scary enough, about a little girl climbing out of your television to murder you 7 days after watching a video, but the film is not scary at all. And it's very long.

My favourite horror films (I guess the 90's is modern?) are Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

More modern ones are Don't Breathe and 47 Metres Down, both excellent at creating tension and unparalleled dread (especially the latter, it's a truly brilliant movie).

Here's an idea: next time, instead of being late, just *beep* on my face-Emma Stone
